Suwanee Neighborhood Improvements to be Discussed for Eva Kennedy Road
May 6th, 2008 Categories: Suwanee Events, Suwanee Real Estate
In keeping with Suwanee’s strong desire to improve the quality of life within our communities and keep the community involved, there will be a public meeting on Thursday, May 8th from 4-7 PM at the Suwanee Crossroads Center, 323 Buford Hwy to discuss possible improvements to Eva Kennedy Road.
The project under consideration includes an area from Stonecypher Road to near the Brushy Creek subdivision. Work will include some sidewalk replacement on the south side of the roadway also adding curbs and gutters, as well as oval landscaped islands to reduce traffic speeds through the area. This is an important neighborhood area blending the new and old of Suwanee from the nearby historic Main Street old town merging into the progressive new neighborhoods like the Brushy Creek subdivision. This area readily feeds out to the main thoroughfares of Suwanee Dam Road and Peachtree Industrial, and yet it maintains a quiet, secluded atmosphere, hidden from the busy hustle of the nearby retail shops and restaurants. This project will help to maintain this quiet, secluded feeling while improving the basic street amenities and enhancing the overall appeal.
No schedule has been confirmed but the work is expected to begin before the end of the year. City officials will discuss the project during Thursday’s meeting.
